Bath Green Homes – Larkhall

Bath Green Homes Open Homes Weekend 13th & 14th April – Urgent call for volunteers!

Bath Green Homes is a community project supported by Transition Bath, Bath & North East Somerset Council and Bath Preservation Trust. This year our Open Homes weekend on 13th & 14th April is showcasing 19 homes across Bath which are green, warm and cheap to run, ranging from period houses to new-builds, and featuring a range of measures from the low cost to the high tech. Volunteer Stewards – Vacancies in Larkhall area

Due to the high number of homes opening this year, there are still vacancies for stewards on both the Saturday and the Sunday in Camden, Fairfield Park, Larkhall and Bathford.

Wild Things is(are) Back!

Wild Things is an outdoor group run in the lovely  in Alice Park Community Garden and it is just about to kick off a new season! Starting from 5th April 10.30 -12, every Friday – including school holidays!

The group is aimed at 2.5 to 4 year olds and involves messy play, craft making, gardening and getting up close and personal with nature. We also always include a picnic snack time with homemade cakes or biscuits.

There is a taster session in 5th April 10.30 – 12 come along and see what it is all about!

We will be laying out the wall plates for the 

building and constructing the roof at ground level so we can easily see the cuts and lengths.

The Raising

All students are invited to the raising weekend. This is a free event to which you can bring your family and friends and food to share for a picnic. Alternatively 
coffee, tea and lunch can be provided for £10 per head per day.

Roof Shingling

Participants will learn how to set out batons and lay cedar shingles on this beautiful hipped roof structure.

You will be working at height and a full scaffolding platform will be provided.

                    FREE organic gardening training


A great opportunity has come up for anyone interested in learning about organic gardening.

Experienced organic gardener John Ingham will be running a series of FREE workshops demonstrating ‘No-Dig’ raised bed methods of growing fruit and vegetables. There are just 8 places available so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in signing up.

Alternatively, please forward this publicity to any local friends or neighbours who might be interested.

The course will run on alternate Wednesday evenings, at Alice Park Community Garden beginning on Weds 17 April, 6pm – 7pm.

John would like one or two people to take responsibility for the plot and treat it as their own allotment, with a view to tending it in between sessions and taking home produce.  This will be of particular interest to anyone who doesn’t already have an allotment or vegetable garden, and is interested in starting one.


The full set of dates is April 17, May 1, 15, 29th, June 12, 26, July 10, 24th.
