Alice Park Community Garden gives local people the tools for self-reliance by sharing skills and knowledge and encouraging volunteers and visitors to grow their own fruit and vegetables. It is also a social hub where local community members can gather.
Set up in 2010, after four years’ hard work the garden now consists of a row of raised vegetable beds, fruit trees, a circular fire-pit with log seating, a pond, a tool shed, a greenhouse and a shelter.
In 2013 we we laid a hard surface in the garden for improved access and constructed a green oak open shelter for running courses and other activities. This is now also available for hire.
